Baisakhi is a festival that is celebrated by farmers, as it marks the time for harvesting the Rabi crops. Every year it is celebrated on thirteenth April and once in thirty-six years on fourteenth April.
It is said that the festival of Baisakhi has a lot of importance for Sikhs, as the tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji laid the foundation of Panth Khalsa on the day of Baisakhi in 1699. |
